Opening: Wednesday September 12, 6pm–8pm
The world as we know it is going up in flames, but all from a distance. Pockets of revolution and resistance blow up here and there, but always at a distance, viewed comfortably through an LCD screen on a wireless Internet connection. Protest Remade takes the experience of protest pushed to violent ends from the screen to the gallery – a controlled environment, a physical experience, but still not real enough. It is an attempt to provoke discussions on violence, protest, power, and place in contemporary society.
