Be Home Soon
Be home soon is part of an ongoing preoccupation with home, both the tangible place and the imagined ‘hiding place’ in my head. It is a personal exploration of how these most intimate spaces shape us, and how uprooting oneself and moving can prove rattling. My own move to Melbourne this year was the catalyst for this series of drawings. They are in many ways cathartic, a negotiation of my inner dialogue whilst working through change and finding my way again in a new home. Littered with comforting words and keepsakes from those closets to me, reminding me that this will be home soon.
