black painting is a silent, looped single image digital projection installation. Recorded on super8 film, a circle of sunlight falls unsteadily on a devotional painting. This light, while showing part of the image also introduces new material and a skewed geometry. The image materialises, stutters and dissolves. Circularity is cut by the frame of the architectural element that doesn’t hold. An apprehension of multiple or contingent orders, the work connects to memory and transcription.
