Dear Container is a sculptural installation that abstractly represents the human figure. The large scale works question ideas of identity and appearance in a physical and psychological space.
The bright coloured biomorphic sculptures pose a deceptive facade that embodies their own sense of self. Using diverse recycled and synthetic materials, the architectural forms describe a process of construction through assemblage. The act of wrapping and concealing materials references our desire to dress and clothe our sense of identity and place in the world. The shell references our physical body as a built and contained space, a vessel that collects, constructs, remakes itself based on its notion of self.
