New Trends for Houseplants
The houseplant’s existence is dependent entirely on a person remembering to water it. Artfully positioned on a windowsill, it may act as a polite nod to a homeowner’s good taste and ability to balance the natural and artificial worlds. Yet the houseplant will likely never achieve it’s full potential. Restrained by it’s human-given resources, any reproduction is assisted and controlled. Might a weed be something of a spirit guide to the stunted cactus on an inner city shelf?
In New Trends for Houseplants, weeds model desirable plant lifestyles, presenting new modes of living based on resistance, resilience and sustainability.
