Once Upon a Time
Part of an ongoing enquiry into the relationship with our personal and public histories, Tracey’s projection engages with the ideas of discovery, chance, absence, emotions and memory. Throughout her practice Tracey uses geometry, images and forms as powerful components of place and identity. This video exhibits a collection of hazy fragments of childhood stories past and present. It is a found observation of the universal, uplifting nature of storybook characters. A brightly coloured mass of balloons levitating in the sky above the heads of the human participants, proposing the opportunity to take away an ephemeral “once upon a time” experience.
