At any given moment we have unprecedented capacity to know things and know details. We collect data every day through a myriad avenues. Yet for some reason, this information is impossible to comprehend or retain. Despite the saturation of information, and the ever-increasing points of access, there exists a disconnect between this availability and our level of understanding.
Drawing on ideas discussed by Blanchot, Derrida, Grosz and Irigaray, the artists assembled here present information for the viewer to digest, but rather than speaking directly, they obscure what was initially straightforward, inflicting pauses, setting down barriers between the viewer and the information or allowing them to be purposefully misled.
