Residency 2012-2013
SEVENTH Gallery Open studio program invites two artists, one international and one from Australia to the studio for four weeks from 20th of December 2012 to the 20th of January 2013. The month long residency program situated on Gertrude Street in Melbourne’s first suburb Fitzroy is designed to provide local, national and international artists with artistic exchanges and interaction. Over the Christmas period the gallery is closed enabling it to become a studio for artists to have their own space. During the residency SEVENTH endeavors to introduce artists to an extended SEVENTH community.
The outcomes and objectives of the artists experience are to be exhibited in an Open studio were the artist can chose to exhibit work or work in progress in the last week of the residency.

Then this might be your chance!

“Two Caves: New Ruins, and This is Happening” looks at how social and environmental issues can lead to the disturbance of self.
On discarded timber ‘New Ruins’ metaphorically uses storms, clouds of dust, smoke, and landscapes in various forms of transition.
These works visually express the mood of anxiety related to human impacts on the planet.
Both performance and opening where successful and fun nights.
SEVENTH would also like to thank the kind supporters for making our 2011-12 Summer Residency a success.
