The central axis of my work is the human body. My practice considers how the body is represented and understood. We is an ‘art experiment’ in which I attempt to construct an image of the body that exists simultaneously within the realms of biology, society and history. The figures in We are arranged in the manner of an 18th century genre painting known as a ‘conversation piece’. (Society, History) A collection of urine is displayed in a glass jar near each model.
